Begin with working the mitered border in three colors. The striped center is picked up and worked as you go and finally add a broad garter stitch border to the bottom.

You will need one skein each of three colors. Shown in Azure, Goldenrod, and El Greco.

Early copies of the pattern noted size 5 needles in the materials and gave the gauge on size 6. I used size 5 throughout.
