Nicholas Slouch
The Nicholas Slouch is a cozy hat that combines the traditional Norwegian star pattern with a series of zig-zag stripes. Featuring two color ribbing and bold pattering, this slouchy hat is a project that will keep you engaged from start to finish, making it a great addition to your winter wardrobe or a thoughtful gift for a loved one. The original beanie version of this pattern was featured in Ply Magazine and has been updated here to the more relaxed fit in two sizes.
Each hat requires about 90 (110) yards each of two colors. If making this project using 2 balls of Highland Lux by HiKoo, you should have enough material to create two hats. For those who want a stretchier brim, simply cast on and work 1x1 ribbing with either color of yarn. Continue until time to change to the larger needle, joining the second yarn when it’s time to begin the chart.
