Nicolette are timeless and elegant mitts for fingering weight yarn. They have all my favourite elements - twisted stitches, small cables, and beads - all in my favourite yarn weight.

You can use leftovers - one pair uses only about 30 g of fingering weight yarn, or you can use a full skein to make more than one pair.

Beads are optional, you can make the mitts without them, just work a plain knit stitch where the pattern calls for a bead. Or as test knitter maromago suggested - work purl stitches instead of beads to imitate the textured design. :-)

This pattern was published on St. Nicolas day, which is a holiday celebrated here in the Czech Republic and other parts of Europe on December 6, so I decided to name the pattern after the saint. But since they look quite feminine, I went for the female version of the name, Nicolette.

Notions: cable needle, size 8/0 beads (54 pcs), crochet hook 0.75 mm or dental floss, 5 stitch markers (1 for BOR, 2 for pattern and 2 for thumb gusset), waste yarn or stitch holder for thumb sts, darning needle for weaving in loose ends

Techniques: knit & purl, working small circumference in the round, cables, increases, attaching beads

Attaching beads:
Beads are attached using either a small crochet hook or dental floss if you do not have such a small crochet hook. Beads are only attached to plain knit stitches, so this is a great first project to try beading.

Korálky jsou volitelné, pokud chcete rukavičky bez korálků, můžete místo nich plést oko hladce, nebo jako zkoušely testerky obrace. Obrace oko hezky imituje korálkový vzor.

Další potřeby: pomocná jehlice, korálky velikosti 8/0 (54 ks), háček velikosti 0,75 mm nebo zubní nit, 5 značkova?? (1 pro začátek řady, 2 pro vzor a 2 na přidávání pro palec), zbytek kontrastní příze nebo držák volných ok, jehla s tupým hrotem na zapošití volných konců

Techniky: hladce, obrace, pletení malých obvodů v kruhových řadách, pletení copánků, přidávání korálků

Přidávání korálků: Korálky se připevňují pomocí háčku 0,75 mm nebo zubní niti, pokud takto malý háček nemáte. Korálky se připevňují pouze k jednoduchým hladkým okům, takže je to ideální projekt na vyzkoušení práce s korálky.
