Night Skies and Fireflies
This asymmetrical triangular shawl is an easy staple accessory. With a generous length from tip to tip, it stays in place on the shoulders when worn traditionally or bandana-style. This pattern is designed to be a meditative knit because it can be easily memorized and would make a great “first beaded knitting” project. The beads represent stars and fireflies, which intermingle in the evening as dusk fades to darkness.
In this design, the beads are placed at the whim of the knitter, so no chart or written beading instructions need be followed. In much the same way that the night sky has no overarching, discernable pattern, so, too, should the beads be placed on the shawl.
This pattern has been tech edited and test knit.
