Night Sun Capelet
I affectionately refer to the full moon as the night sun. Often, I needlessly recheck the house on moonlit nights for lights I may have left on only to discover it is just the night sun doing its thing. These yarn colors make me think of such nights. This capelet is knit bottom up, in the round, in a yarn that is seemingly perfect for transitional seasons. Enjoy!
Materials:
Cascade Yarns Cantata (100 g, 218 yds, 70/30 Cotton/Superwash Merino Wool). 1 skein each of Black 04 (color A), Grey 02 (color B), Antique Moss 28 (color C).
US 10 circular needles in various lengths – interchangeable are great. I started with 40 inches, then 32 inches, finished with 24 inches.
One stitch marker to mark beginning of round and a yarn needle for weaving in ends.
Gauge: 16 sts x 24 rows in 4x4” square in stockinette.
Finished Measurements: Approximately 46” around at bottom (stretching to about 52”) tapering to 26” at top opening, and approximately 22” long.
Notes: This pattern is easy to customize to a better fit for your body should you wish to do so. The pattern is worked in multiples of 2 throughout, so as long as you keep you stitch count even, you may adjust sizing however best fits you. If making pattern larger, you will need an additional skein of each color. I had 3 grams remaining of color A, and 13 grams remaining of both colors B and C.
