Nila
Nila seamlessly combines grace and strength, where the intricate lacework is balanced by the strong lines and the textured background. The result is a stunning display of stitch and shape. Select cap sleeves for a summery vibe or embrace timeless charm with three three-quarter sleeves.
Regardless of your choice, Nila promises to be a delightful addition to your handknit sweater collection!
CONSTRUCTION
Nila is worked from the top down. First, the back yoke is worked back and forth until the underarm. Then, stitches are picked up from the slanted edges of the back yoke to work the back and front shoulders. The shoulders are joined by casting on stitches for the front neck, and the front yoke is worked to the underarm, where the front and back are joined to work the body in the round.
Directions for both a sleeveless or a sleeved version are given. For the sleeves, stitches are picked up around the armhole. The sleeve caps or armhole ribbing are shaped using German short rows. The sleeves are worked in the round. To finish the neckline, stitches are picked up, after which the ribbing is worked in the round.
