Nina
Little Nina is another in my darling painted collection, pictured here in hand dyed natural wool and hand made glass eyes. She wears a simple lace knit dress that crocheted on, and is perfectly accented by the simple apron skirt she wears underneath. The open back dress and apron skirt are just perfect for her seated pose. Her ears, tail, and paws are painted using an easy technique included in this pattern. She also features a sharply tapered, chunky leg and over-sized feet wearing crocheted on mary janes. The fabric shoe bottom is optional, this pattern also includes a crochet shoe bottom option. Standing at about 12 inches tall, but preferring her seated pose, Nina’s a painted delight!
This pattern has 11 pages with all the info an experienced crocheter/knitter would need to make this little darling; including technique descriptions, diagrams, and photos. I would rate this as “intermediate”, and requires only minimal sewing and embroidery skills.
Suggested materials: wool or wool blend yarn (worsted weight, ~150 yds ea. 1 color, ~100 yds accent color),acid dye or food dye, natural or polyester filling, 12 mm glass or plastic safety eyes, cotton fabric and felt.
