This shawl pattern combines garter and a garter crown stitch. Using these two stitches has created a shawl that is very pretty on both sides and has a lovely scalloped edge. It is also very easy to make the shawl larger.

The original project used five skeins of Mirasol Sulka Legato (approximately 1350 yards) but any light fingering/3 ply yarn can be substituted.

The crown stitch made me think of royalty. The interesting life of Lady Jane Grey kept coming to mind, so the shawl was named the Nine Day Queen shawl.
