SKILLS
To knit this cardigan you need to know how to knit
and purl, knit in the round, cast on stitches with
any method (although the long-tail cast-on is recommended),
make increases with the “make one
away” technique (the one most commonly used
to cast on stitches at the underarm, also known
as the backwards loop method), pick up stitches,
make decreases, be familiar with slipping stitches,
and to bind off stitches with the i-cord method.
You also need to have basic sewing skills to sew a
zipper to the front of the cardigan.

CONSTRUCTION
This cardigan is knit top-down, i.e., it is started to
knit at the neckline, then you will knit the yoke,
shaping it with raglan increases, separate sleeves
from body, and continue knitting the body flat.
Then the resting sleeve stitches are placed back on
the needles and the sleeves are knit in the round
to the cuff. It is worked seamlessly, all in one piece.
It is worked in a textured stitch with an overall
slipped-stitch colourwork motif. The body and the
sleeves are finished with an i-cord in contrast colour.
A zipper is sewn at the front for closure once
the cardigan has been finished.

GAUGE
22 stitches and 32 rows in 10 x 10 cm 4 x 4” in stockinette
stitch, without blocking.
This cardigan is recommended to be knit in the specified
yarn and to be blocked aggressively to the indicated
final measurements.

YARN
3 (3, 4, 4, 5, 5) balls of Felted Tweed by Rowan in Colour
1 (main colour), 1 (1, 1, 2, 2, 2) balls of Felted Tween by
Rowan in Colour 2 and 1 (2, 2, 3, 3, 3) balls of Felted
Tweed by Rowan in Colour 3 (50% Wool, 25% Alpaca,
25% Viscose; 50 g / 175 m; 1.76 oz / 191 yd).
The colourways used are the Electric Green 203 as Colour
1, the Ginger 154 as Colour 2, and the Pink Bliss 199
as Colour 3 for the green version, and the Celadon 184
as Colour 1, the Ancient 172 as Colour 2, and the Stone
190 as Colour 3 for the aqua green version.

NEEDLES
3.5 mm US 4 circular needles with a cable length of
40 cm 16” for the neckband and yoke and 80 cm
32” for the body, or the required needle size to obtain
gauge (without blocking).
OTHER NOTIONS
8 stitch markers for the raglan increases. Tapestry needle
to weave in ends. 1 zipper, 30 cm 11.75”. Needle
and matching thread.

NOCIONES PREVIAS
Para tejer esta chaqueta es necesario saber tejer
punto del derecho y del revés, tejer en circular, montar
puntos mediante cualquier método, aunque se
recomienda el de la hebra larga; realizar aumentos,
remontar y retomar puntos, realizar disminuciones,
la técnica de puntos deslizados cerrar puntos y rematar
con i-cord, así como tener nociones de costura
con el fin de coser la cremallera frontal.

CONSTRUCCIÓN
Esta chaqueta tiene una construcción top-down, es
decir se empieza tejiendo por el escote, se continúa
por el canesú realizando aumentos en el raglán,
se separan mangas y cuerpo, y se continúa tejiendo
el cuerpo en plano. A continuación, se retoman las
mangas y se tejen en circular hasta el puño. Se realiza
de una sola pieza, sin ninguna costura. Se teje en
punto del derecho y punto del revés, con un detalle
en puntos deslizados en toda la prenda. El cuerpo y
las mangas acaban con un remate en i-cord en color
de contraste. El cierre se hace con cremallera que se
cose a la prenda una vez acabada.

MUESTRA
22 puntos y 32 vueltas para una muestra de 10 x 10 cm
4 x 4” en punto jersey, sin bloquear.
Se recomienda tejer esta chaqueta con el hilo especificado
y bloquear agresivamente a las medidas finales indicadas.

Tweed de Rowan en color 3 (50% lana, 25% alpaca,

Los colores utilizados son el verde 203 como color
principal, el teja 154 como color 2 y el rosa 199 como

Agujas circulares de 3.5 mm US 4 con cables de 40
cm 16” para el escote y 80 cm 32” para el cuerpo,
o las necesarias para obtener la muestra de tensión (sin
bloquear). Agujas de un número menor para tejer el
remate del escote en i-cord.

8 marcadores para los aumentos, aguja lanera para rematar
