Work cuff down with 56, 64 and 72 stitch cast on, with 8 stitch pattern repeats for both texture stitch patterns. The sock begins with 2 x 2 ribbing, has texture on the leg, my favourite Eye Of Partridge heel, with flap and gusset and finished with a wedge toe and kitchener stitch.

This pattern is easily modified with your preferred ribbing, heel and toe. I worked the sample in DPNs but the pattern is easily worked in magic loop as well, a stitch marker for marking the beginning of the round may be required. These are the perfect pattern for single skein sock yarn, a tonal or solid would work beautifully to fully show off the texture, however, I think a lightly variegated yarn may also look just as beautiful!

The inspiration for these socks are my favourite Mythical Creature; Nisse / Tomte or Gnome. They’re so magical and remind of all the creature comforts, I imagine they love to be cosy in their Gnome-homes and knit socks of their own. Nisse are the one little being that is so close to nature which is the reasoning behind the knot/berry and leaf stitch pattern on the leg of the sock.

Thank you to all my wonderful test knitters for this pattern, your help and support means the world to me!

I would love to see your Nisse socks on social media!! Please use the hashtags #nissesocks and #littlewonderfibreco on Instagram, I adore seeing others have fun with my patterns!!
