Nitto no hi mystery 12" square KAL
Feb 10th can be read as ‘ni’ (2) ‘to’ (10), so February tenth is ‘Nitto no hi’ or ‘Knitting day’ here in Japan. To celebrate, I’m designing a pattern for a knitted square (which will make part, eventually, of a larger blanket) which will be moderately challenging (I’m thinking optional colourwork as well as textured stitches) but could conceivably be completed in a single day (or weekend). The pattern will be available for free for one day, and anyone who joins in the KAL in this thread on or before Feb 10th will also be able to claim a free copy of the blanket pattern when it is released.
If you want to join in, add yourself to the forum thread, and grab yourself about 150m of any yarn (depending on what size you want your square to turn out - I’ll be using worsted weight) in 1-5 colours, and needles to match. If you want to do the colourwork, you will need roughly 1/3 of your yarn to be light brown, cream or similar, 1/2 of a single background colour, some green, plus 1-3 extra colours. The design will also work in a single colour.
Clue 1 is now online! I’ll be adding clues throughout the day :D
