I am retiring from knit design due to progressive arthritis. Although I will no longer provide pattern support to my patterns that are now free, my patterns are edited and most have been test knit.

Niwot ni’ wot; Arapahoe, n. 1. Chief Left Hand, a Southern Arapahoe Chief in the mid1850s who wintered near Boulder, CO. 2. A CO city near Boulder, CO named after Chief Left Hand.

Equestrian chaps of Arapahoe origin inspired my Niwot hat! Niwot is worked in the round from ribbing to crown tip. The ribbing seamlessly flows into the interrupted Garter ridges and crown texture. Work Niwot in a different gauge to change sizing, in either a prominent or more subtle crown texture design.
