No. 2 Ballet Cardigan
PATTERN NOTES
Free your inner dancer with this wrap cardigan! There is a reason that wrapped garments never get old. They’re perfect for pulling together any outfit – adding a touch of warmth and comfort whenever there’s a breeze in the air. With three-quarter sleeves, refined ribbing, and a tied waist, this charming cardigan deserves to be shown off!
Knit flat in pieces and seamed, this cardigan has a slight A-line shape due to the difference in gauge between Garter Rib (used at the hem) and the Main Rib patt (used for body and sleeves).
SEWING PATTERN NOTES
The dress pattern shown is McCall’s M7382 in View B with sleeve modifications. After the cardigan was completed, I hemmed the sleeves so that a bit of fabric would peek out underneath the cuffs.
The color choices in this ensemble definitely started with my discovery of the glorious botanic-print stretch poplin. Bamboo Pop has so many fun solid colors that I could have gone with a few different blues, marmalade, or even black to coordinate with the fabric print. But I’m a green lover, so that’s what I did!
After designing the cardigan, I found this very easy dress pattern. I thought it had a silhouette that would work well with the fitted cardigan. This dress was by far the quickest of the garments to sew. The sleeves are dolman, so there is no setting in of sleeves. Just four seams, a neckband, hemming, and I was done!
