From the 1892 book, The Art of Knitting, this is a transcribed lace pattern. I’ve taken the original instructions, translated it to more modern written instructions as well as created a lace chart to follow!

This lace is worked on the short side, so the more repeats knit, the longer the lace trim becomes. This is a very beautiful lace edging, and the yarn, needle size, and number of repeats can be altered to make exactly the size of lace trim needed.
