No Fuss, Just Fun Ear-Warmer

Looking for an easy ear warmer crochet pattern for beginners? I made this super cute and cozy twist ear warmer for my daughter when she decided to grow out her bangs. This ear warmer keeps her hair out of her face and makes her feel warm and stylish at school!

This quick and beginner-friendly project is perfect for making thoughtful gifts or creating one for yourself in your favorite colors to match your winter wardrobe!

If you’re new to crochet, this project is a breeze. All you need to know are the basics: how to crochet a chain, half double crochet (hdc) and half double crochet in the back loop only (hdcblo)!

This will create that wonderful ribbing effect on your ear warmer, just like the cuffs on sweater sleeves, giving the ear warmer plenty of stretch and a snug fit.

Make sure to size your ear warmer slightly smaller than the head circumference for a comfortable fit with negative ease. I made this one for my 8-year-old daughter, so it’s sized for a child, but you can use the sizing chart below to adjust for any age or size.

Materials Needed
Aran / Worsted weight yarn. I used Big Twist Rave 100% Premium Acrylic
Crochet hook: 6 mm
A tapestry needle
A pair of scissors
Measuring tape (if person you’re making this ear warmer for is not available)

Size
Please refer to the ear warmer sizing chart in the blog post for desired sizing. This ear warmer I made for my 8-year old daughter measures 42 cm (16.5”).

Yardage
I used about 54 m for this project (59 yards)

Gauge
12 sts and 10 rows in hdc = 10 cm (4”) with a 6 mm hook.
