No lo sé (Spanish for “I don’t know (it/that)”) is a crescent-shaped lace shawl that knits up in no time, starting at one tip and gradually growing larger.
I designed and worked the sample while chatting with friends in a restaurant.
A combination of two panels come together in a unique way to create a curved triangle with optionally beaded decreases at the outer edge. The first panel is in garter stitch, using simple increases and decreases to give the shawl a dynamic look. The lace panel also uses simple increases and decreases as well as a mock cable. The border is a different lace panel, which can be finished off with optional beads in the bind off row.
It even looks good on the private side as can be seen on the photos marked accordingly.
When knitting this shawl, you need to pay some attention at the start to get it right. My sample is worked in only one color, using a single marker but more markers can be used if you prefer.
No lo sé is highly adaptable, as you can knit as many repeats both of the body and the border as you like. Also you may use yarn of different weight.
Eventually there will also be fully written out instructions both in English and in German and a different solution for a more elaborate beaded border with picots.
