This sock pattern has been designed for the Annual Sock Madness, a knitting competition held from February to June. My original design was accepted for the finale sock. There have been some changes made to the pattern before it got this far, so that the pattern is now easier to shorten or lengthen after working the llama on the foot.

There’s a certain song that just keeps coming back again every Sock Madness season. It has had me thinking for several years about how to incorporate it into a Madness-worthy sock. After spending many hours sketching, I believe I’ve found the answer. It’s a fully charted colourwork sock, with some longer floats in places. I tossed the rake, tree house and cheesecake ideas and decided to just stick to the llamas and a duck…

I could have published this in the same format as the Madness pattern “Adamant Hearts” from 2019, but decided to break the charts up and split them over several pages. I hope you’ll once again enjoy a fully charted pattern (and the Llama, llama, duck song ;-) )
