No Purl Crescent Shawlette
Put any 3 single patterns in your cart and get automatically 25% off your purchase.
The No Purl Crescent Shawlette is quick and easy to knit up using worsted weight yarn and big needles. Choose a ribbon yarn or mohair for a chunky look. The shawlette knits up great in fine yarn as well creating a delicate airy look. Go up two needle sizes from what is recommended on the skein label. The knitted fabric must be quite loose. Swatch the pattern on different size needles to find the look of the fabric you like most. Gauge is not crucial.
Some comments from my lovely testers:
- once you get the pattern “in hand” it goes up pleasantly!
- a very enjoyable pattern
- have fun with the pattern
- It is very relaxing knit after 8 rows when you get in the pattern and read your knitting.
- Easy - simple stitches, very well explained
I knitted a small swatch in Malabrigo lace to see how the pattern looks in finer yarn. Only change I made I cast on 5 sts instead of 3. This way I got two knit stitches on both edge.
