No Sew Checkerboard Wallet
This cute wallet works up quickly and is a great introduction to simple colorwork. The pattern was inspired by the viral checkerboard stitch pattern.
Skill level
This pattern is suitable for adventurous beginners and intermediate crocheters. I suggest you try it as one of your first colorwork projects, as it is quick and relatively easy.
Materials
50 grams of 2 contrasting yarns in 8 ply (I used white and black acrylic but cotton works well too)
4.00mm crochet hook
Scissors
Needle to sew ends in
Button (optional)
Abbreviations (US terminology)
ch - chain
SC - single crochet
DC - double crochet
Sts - stitches
CA - color A
CB - color B
A note on color work
To achieve the checkered pattern on both sides of the wallet, I worked of the yarn of the opposite color to the one I was currently working with. If you need more help with this technique, a checkerboard tutorial from BrittanyAliceCrochet can be found at:

Keep in mind the tutorial uses half double crochet, meanwhile my pattern uses DC. It can be quite tricky to grasp at the start, but you can do it!
