• Approx. 400 gms of Aran Baby Cake Anti-Pill Yarn by Hobby Store.
• Approx. 100 gms of Aran Anti-Pill Yarn by Hobby Store for the ribbing part.
• Crochet Hook – 4.5 mm US Size.
• Stitch Marker
• Measuring Tape
Gauge
• 18 Chs on 4.5 mm Crochet Hook = approx. 4“(10 cm)
• 18 sts X 20 rows with 4.5 mm hook = approx. 4” (10 cm)
Since we will be using HDcs for our No Sew Men’s Vest, the Gauge for the same is as follows:
• 14 Chs on 4.5 mm Crochet Hook = approx. 4“(10 cm)
• 14 sts X 11 rows with 4.5 mm hook = approx. 4” (10 cm)
Notes
• When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient.
• The needle called for in the pattern is based on what I have used, but it is not unusual for the gauge to vary from person to person.
• Personally, I am a fair knitter/crocheter but you may check gauge once for exact measurements
• If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size needle; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size needle.
• The Vest is worked in one piece in joined rows, beginning at the end
• Read the pattern carefully.
