No Sew Octopus Family
This is a listing for the Crochet Octopus Family PATTERN ONLY!
There are 5 sizes of Octopus, with 2 different sized yarns.
There are 5 patterns included.
This is a fairly simple group of patterns. Stitches you need to know are: single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, increase, decrease, back loop only, magic ring, chain, and slip stitch.
Yarn used is Sweet Snuggles Lite (blanket octopus) and Big Twist Value (worsted octopus).
I have used felt eyes for my blanket octopus that I made myself - size ranges from 1” to 3” felt eyes.
For the worsted weight octos, I used safety eyes in 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, 14mm and 18mm.
Yardage needed: XL Blanket Octo - 320 yards; XL Worsted Octo - 175 yards; Large Blanket Octo - 225 yards; Large Worsted Octo - 115 yards; Medium Blanket Octo - 125 yards; Medium Worsted Octo - 75 yards; Small Blanket Octo - 65 yards - Small Worsted Octo - 46 yards; XS Blanket Octo - 35 yards; XS Worsted Octo - 25 yards.
Your tension may change how many yards you need. I do crochet fairly tight, so you may need a little more than what I listed.
With the Blanket octos, you need a 6mm hook, and a 4.5mm hook for the worsted weight octos.
The only other necessary item you need to make these would be a yarn needle to sew in the ends, stitch markers, and polyfil for stuffing them.
The tentacles are crocheted directly onto the body, so there is only ends to sew in, nothing to physically sew together!
