No Surrender is a Bruce Springsteen song that I particularly like as I feel it is an encouragement for all those who are looking for something. This bottom-up pullover includes a classic round yoke and is worked seamless in the round (with the only exception of the underarms, that with this technique are more stable and less likely to give). The yoke is decorated with a stripes motif that is not only beautiful, but also helps to focus attention on our shoulders and bust. This means it highlights the best parts of our body, being forgiving on more critical parts. The pullover is designed to be fitted, with a 10 cm negative ease, so if you want something more comfortable I suggest to knit it one size larger than what your measurements call for. But what gives this pullover its real lick is the finishing touch: all the edges are knitted in stockinette stitch and then folded (but not sewn together, as you can see in the tutorial linked in the instructions), the neckline is finished with a contrasting i-cord bind off (you can find a link to a tutorial for this technique too). Thanks to the great choice of colours provided by the yarn I suggest (Pure Wool Worsted by Rowan), No Surrender can be knitted in many different variations, from highly contrasting colours, as I did for my sample, to softer, more natural tones. You can make it to reflect your personality, or to match your mood for the day.

No Surrender è una canzone di Bruce Springsteen cui tengo molto ed è un augurio a tutti quelli che stanno cercando qualcosa. Il pullover è un classico maglione con lo sprone rotondo, lavorato dal basso verso l’alto, bottom-up, e senza cuciture (fatta eccezione per i sottomanica, che, in questo modo risultano molto più stabili e non tendono a slabbrarsi). Lo sprone è caratterizzato da un motivo a righe di larghezza crescente, che, oltre ad essere gradevoli, contribuiscono a dare risalto alle spalle e alle nostre curve, distogliendo l’attenzione da eventuali punti critici. La vestibilità è stretta, ha circa 10 cm di negative ease, perciò, se lo volete più comodo, vi consiglio di scegliere una taglia superiore alla vostra abituale. Le finiture sono molto particolari: i bordi sono tutti a maglia rasata, ripiegati (ma non cuciti, come potrete vedere consultando il tutorial indicato nelle istruzioni) e il collo è rifinito con un i-cord bind off a contrasto (anche per questo c’è il link a un video che completa le istruzioni scritte). No Surrender, grazie alla ricca cartella colori del filato suggerito (Pure Wool Worsted di Rowan), si presta a essere declinato in tante tonalità diverse, da quelle un po’ shock e contrastanti, come quella che ho scelto io, a quelle più naturali e tono su tono, per rappresentare al meglio la vostra personalità e il vostro umore.
