This hat and mitts use a super-bulky yarn and a worsted weight yarn together, allowing room for playing with contrast in both color and texture. In both patterns, the brim/cuff is knit from side-to-side initially using the larger yarn, then stitches are picked up using the finer yarn.

Needle – US 15 straight & US 7 circular + double-points
Notions – darning needle to weave in ends
