Nodus cardi
This is a complete tutorial on how to knit a contiguous cardigan. This garment is worked from the top down in one piece with absolutely no seaming.
Nodus cardi is a challenging pattern, but these instructions, photos and charts (showing every stitch in this garment for all sizes) make work easier and pleasant.
I am delighted by the wonderful contiguous method developed by Susie Myers that naturally forms a nice shoulder slope. Nodus Cardi is made using this method. In my pattern, directions for stitch patterns are given in chart form. Pictures show each step of the work.
The pattern contains an explanation of all the methods used: M1, reading charts, provisional cast-on, horizontal buttonholes.
Yarn: 5 (6, 7, 9, 9, 10) skeins of Charisma YarnArt (200 m/ 100g) or other worsted weight yarn.
Yarn substitutes: Cascade 220, Karisma Drops, Malabrigo Yarn Rios.
Needles: 5.0mm / US 8 circular, 40 cm and 100 / 120 cm (16” and 40”). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: - 8 stitch markers, waste yarn in a contrasting color, cable needles in a similar size, crochet hook in a similar size, Buttons: 8 (sizes: S and M), 9 (sizes: L and XL) 10 (size: XXL and XXXL).
Gauge: 17 stitches x 28 rows = 10 cm x10 cm (4” x 4”) in double seed stitch; 24 stitches x 28 rows = 10 cm x10 cm (4” x 4”) over cable swatch. For some testers (who make looser) met the stitch and row gauge but went down a needle size (4,5 mm (US 7) needles instead of the size 5,00 mm (US 8)) to get the right gauge.
Sizes: S (M, L, XL, XXL, XXXL)
Finished bust circumference: 80 (88, 100, 112, 126, 134) cm; 31.5 (34.5, 39.25, 44, 49.5, 52.75) inches.
** Difficulty:** Intermediate.
