NOËLLE - an extra large, soft and flowy triangle wrap, perfect for the Holiday Season
The design is inspired by a gingerbread house; the top section resembles the shingles of the roof, the middle section represents icicles hanging off the roof and the bottom section is the blanket of snow the house stands on.
For a little extra interest the spine is a 4 stitch cable and in the original the edges are softened by a 5-stitch i-cord. The pattern doesn’t prescribe any specific edging, that is left up to the tastes of the knitter.
Final dimensions:
Wingspan: approx. 210 cm / 82 inches
Spine: approx 100 cm / 40 inches
Yarn:
Hand dyed yarn “Nollaig” (Christmas) Superwash Merino in 4-ply weight (i.e. 100 grams = 400 meter)
by Wild Atlantic Yarn on Etsy
Total yarn usage:
3 skeins -
300 grams / 1200 meters
The pattern for Noëlle includes:
- both charts AND written instructions for each section separately
- helpful notes where necessary
- tally-lists with stitch counts per row to check if you’re on track
- a link to a Google Sheet with those tally-lists and a bonus Yarn Chicken Calculator, to determine when to start binding off. Note that to use the interactive tally-lists, you do need to have your own Google Drive.
