This beanie was inspired by socks! Odd thing to say, but true.
The crown of the hat is designed to resemble a neatly finished sock toe; which is an unusual but pleasing shape, that I think works very well.

My sample of this hat has now become a go-to for these chilly Autumn days. Soft and smooth but warm and woolly too :)

Tight gauge is a feature of this pattern to give the smooth flexible fabric, so make sure yours is accurate or you won’t get the right fit!

The crown is grafted seamlessly with kitchener stitch. A link to a tutorial is given, you might wish to practice on a swatch if you have not tried this technique before.

** This makes a set with the Armsocks mitts which use the same cuff/brim design and same gauge fabric for the body. **
