This pattern is written for a toe-up sock because that’s how I like to make them. If you prefer cuff-down you can always make the cuff first then pick up stitches for the ankle and continue down from there.
Just a heads up, there’s a bit of three-colours-per-row action going on here, and some pretty damn long floats. I suggest ladder-back jacquard for float containment.
These were designed (though that may even be a strong word for it) purely with screen accuracy in mind so if they are a cumbersome knit, I apologise.
