Noosa Waves Poncho
The way the stitches flow in this poncho creates a wave-like effect. They seem to ebb and flow. Using only a 2-row pattern repeat you will be able to quickly memorise the stitches, which will then help you to have the poncho crocheted in no time at all.
You have the option of adding purchased buttons to finish the poncho or crocheting your own unique “Shell” buttons - to match the beachy theme
The Omega Nilo linen blend yarn creates a soft draped garment you will wear with pride, or simply use as a poolside or beach coverup.
You have a choice of yarn between Omega Nilo linen OR Prestige yarns Fiori Sock.
The pattern is written using British crochet terminology and is suitable for a beginner who knows the basic stitches, as well as a double treble
The body of the garment is worked using a 4.5 mm (G) crochet hook with the option of a 5.00 (H) to make the starting choose loose. The 5.5 mm (I) is for the optional buttons
Shell buttons: Matching scrap yarn or garden twine
Optional buttons to purchase: at least 1 inch or 2 cm - the larger the better
The blue poncho photos were crocheted using 5 ply Omega Nilo cotton … the fuschia colour was using 5 ply pure wool; the red and caramel coloured ponchos were made using 4 ply wool - Fiori Sock yarn would be a great alternative - all crocheted with 4.5 mm (G) hook
