If you’re a fan of Harry Potter, this is the scarf for you. This unusual pocket shawl reminded me of the scales on one of the dragon’s in a Harry Potter book. It’s an unusual stitch with lots of texture, and fun to knit.

The pockets are optional, patch pockets.

The pattern is both charted and written out.

Skill Level: Beginner + - Intermediate, (assuming a good working knowledge of knitting stitches together)

The scarf (with optional pockets) was knit with Malabrigo’s Arroyo yarn in colorway HollyHock, and expertly tested by Gay Fehr, who can be reached at: grf1956@ gmail.com

There are also instructions for an optional crocheted border, should you want it edged. This is the ONLY crochet in the pattern, all the rest is knitted. HOWEVER, I do not think that this scarf needs an edging as a result of the texture.
