I designed this NORCAN (name was created from NORwegian, where these types of hat are designed and CANada for the colours) hat for the people that don’t like to wear a beanie type hat, as this one is more a “loose fit” with the 2 short braids that just hang, so it’s easy on and easy off. One can also put a thin polar fleece liner inside for added warmth. This pattern uses basic stitches mostly double crochet and single crochet. However, you must have GOOD KNOWLEDGE of making Plaid and Tapestry crochet where you carry the other yarn colour on a row and how to make the colour changes.
