Nordic Christmas Gnome
I love Scandi Christmas decor and enjoyed creating my very own Nordic-inspired Gnome. For this design, I fully embraced my love of stranded colourwork and the result is a fun knit and beautiful gnome that will look gorgeous on any shelf. He also features a long, floppy hat complete with tassel and a soft natural mohair beard.
The body, hat, head & nose are all knitted separately and then assembled. Comprehensive video tutorials are included to help you achieve the best result possible (especially if you’ve never worked with mohair locks before!)
The finished gnome measures 18cm from base to head (hat is additional).
Technique & Skill Level
As with all of my patterns, I’ve presented it in a clear and easy-to-follow format - you’ll find a mixture of written instructions and charts (for the stranded colourwork). The gnome is knitted flat on two needles.
Other techniques used are basic shaping (increasing & decreasing).
Video tutorials for attaching the mohair beard & stitching on the nose & head are also included, along with a photo tutorial for creating the tassel.
