This double-sided cowl with traditional Norwegian motifs starts with a provisional cast-on and is knit in the round. You will knit double the depth, fold it in half, and attach the live stitches on the needle to the live stitches at the beginning (after you remove the provisional cast-on) via a three-needle bind-off, or by grafting.

The colors are reversed on the inside of the cowl. You can change the look of the piece by turning it inside-out.

You will need fingering weight yarn in two colors that contrast nicely: 300 (350, 400) yards of Color A and 300 (350, 400) yards of Color B.

The cowl shown was knit with Sun Valley Fibers MCS Fingering (75% Merino, 15% Cashmere, 10% Silk, 100 grams, 400 yards): one skein in Waterfalls and one skein in Blueberry Crumble. you will also need some waste yarn for a provisional cast-on.

The pattern motifs are worked from charts.
