A Nordic style, earflap hat with a two colour fairisle and stripe design.

The hat is knitted flat with contrast garter stitch trims. Earflaps are knitted individually then knitted into the trim of the hat.

The design uses 100% Cotton DK/worsted yarn but other DK yarns can be used as long as the required tension is achieved. Knitted on 4mm (US 6) straight needles with a central back seam finish.

Techniques required; cast on and bind off, garter stitch, stocking/stockinette stitch, two colour stripe knitting, fairisle knitting and the ability to work from a pattern chart for the fairisle design.

Instructions for 5 sizes: 0-3, 3-6, 6-12 months and 1-2, 3+ years.

To fit head circumference: 38cm (15in), 43cm (17in), 46cm (18in), 49cm (19in), 53cm (21in)
