Inspired by the many Nordic colorwork patterns and The Fibre Co. Lore yarn, I created a simple colorwork chart, added in a little bit of corrugated ribbing and voila, this little hat was created.

The yarn, Lore by The Fibre Co. is 100% Kent Lambswool from the Romney sheep breed, sourced and produced entirely in England. It is a woolen spun DK weight yarn available in a variety of colors. It’s a sturdy yarn to work with, but which blooms beautifully after washing and, in my opinion, great for colorwork.

The flower pattern is based on traditional Scandinavian patterns that I tweaked to give it my own personal touch.

By changing your yarn type and using appropriate needles for your yarn type, you can easily make this at bigger or smaller. For instance, using a fingering weight yarn you will make your hat smaller; or using an Aran weight yarn you will make your at larger.
