Nordic Nights Cardigan
Nordic Nights Cardigan is worked in the round with circular needle, bottom up as far as the armholes. From then on, front and back are finished separately back and forth on circular needles. The shoulders are grafted together with Kitchener stitch. The sleeves are worked on circular needles from the armholes downward until the desired length is reached. The neckband is worked last.
SIZES:
S - (M) - L - (XL) - XXL - (XXXL)
MATERIALS:
Ca. 500-(600)-700-(800)-900-(1000) g Alpaka 3 from Isager (50g = 125m)
Ca. 150-(175)-200-(250)-275-(300) g Silk Mohair from Isager (25g = 212m)
Knit with 1 strand of each yarn.
KNITTING GAUGE:
15 stitches and 18 rows stockinette stitch on 7mm needles = 10 x 10 cm. 4 x 4 inches with UK needles no. 2. NOTE: This exact needle size does not exist in the US system, but you might try no. 10.5 (=6.5 mm) or no. 11 (=8 mm).
MEASUREMENTS:
Chest measurements (under sleeves): 120-(125)-130-(135)-140-(145) cm. 47¼-(49¼)-51¼-(53¼)-55-(57) inches
Length: Approximately 80-90 cm 32-35 incheso bottom edge)
RECOMMENDED NEEDLES:
Circular needles:
7 mm (40 and 80-100 cm)
UK no. 2 (40 and 80-100 cm)
US no. 10,5 (16 and 32 inches)
The needle size is simply a guide. If you knit with a different tension, knit with smaller or bigger needles to obtain the right gauge.
