This (to me) is the perfect adult sized cowl. It’s 25 inches around by 7.5 inches high and adorned with two rows of snowflakes. It’s worked up tapestry style so the active yarn is worked over the inactive yarn.

Only two colors are needed. Roughly 147 yards of the background color and 61 yards of the snowflake color.

Gauge was found by working sc in BLO in the round since that’s how the item is worked.

This pattern is read from a graph starting in the bottom right corner. If you want to make it longer just work in multiples of 26 and adjust the graph accordingly.
