Nordisk Arv
Inspiration
The name of the socks Nordisk Arv is translated as Nordic legacy.
The knitting tradition of my Nordic ancestors fascinates me deeply.
By once again diving into the many old patterns and combining them in new ways, these socks have been created.
Furthermore, in the yarn they used then, namely 100% hard-spun wool, which gives the feet warmth and the ability to breathe,
at the same time they last a long time due to the way the yarn is spun.
Enjoy
Yarn
100g /320m /346 yds of 4 ply fingering yarn, 29 stitches at 4” /10 cm
I have used 2 tr. Gammelserie by @raumagarn. It comes in yarn balls of 50 g/160m/180 yds.
Its 100% piled Norwegian wool without plastic. The “2 tr Gammelserie” is twisted more than normal wool yarn to become more durable.
You can also use many other sock yarns, you only need a Gauge of 29 stitches at 4”/ 10 cm.
50g/ 160m/174 yds of the main color
50g/160m/174yds of the contrast color
I used color Bondeblå 438 as main color and Natur 401 as contrast color
Needles
A set of double pointed needles 2,5mm or 3mm/1 or 1,5 US (or a 60 or 80 cm long circular needle for magic loop).
