This is a pattern for a cute little Nóri the Gnome. Nóri is an Old
Norse name which means ‘tiny person’ or a ‘little piece’.

Nori is approx. 15 cm/ 5.9 inch tall. His face is hand-embroidered.
He is wearing a handknit red hat with a pompom, red-green striped
cotton merino sweater and pants in red merino. He has brown,
gnome boots. NB! Crochet pouch and embroidered bear not included in this pattern!

This pattern is pretty straightforward, but more suitable for
the intermediate knitter who can also crochet.

Crochet techniques involved: magic circle/ring, single crochet,
decrease (single crochet decrease), increase (crochet 2 sc into
one sc). You´ll be crocheting in continuous rounds.

Knitting techniques involved: cast on, cast off, knitting in the round with double-pointed needles in small circumference, increases (preferred method knit front and back of a stitch, i.e kfb), decreases (f.e: knit two stitches together (k2tog) and knit two stitches together through the back loop (k2togbl), knitting garter, rib and stockinette stitch, knitting through a back loop, etc.

If you are not familiar with some of these techniques, you can find plenty of tutorials online, they are not complicated.

You can use any fingering type yarn with suitable needles and crochet hooks.
