North Channel Collared Cardigan
There were many incarnations of North Channel before I settled on “the one.” Yarn has a mind of its own sometimes, and won’t cooperate until you clue-in to what it wants to be. When this version finally came to life on the needles, I was smitten. North Channel features vertical ridges of slipped-stitch ribbing on the front panels, and a wide ribbed collar. Picking up fewer stitches than normal on the front bands works strategically with the slipped-stitch texture to draw the fronts slightly upward, leaving length in back. This flattering, versatile shape is a twist on a standard cardigan.
North Channel is worked flat from top to bottom with subtle neck shaping in the early set-up rows. Front bands and sleeves are worked next, with the wide ribbed collar worked last.
