North Point Shawl
The origin of this shawl came from my need to have something light and linen to wear during on those cool summer nights up north. I found myself looking for a wrap to throw around my neck or over my shoulders.
This rectangle shawl is easily adaptable in size and would be lovely in any fiber or weight of yarn. It would be a wonderful beach accessory!
Yarn Used: Nettle Grove by Plymouth Yarn Co. Sport weight yarn; 218 yards (199 meters), 50 grams (1.76 ounces) 45% Cotton, 28% Linen, 12% Nettle, 15% Silk.
4 skeins of color #36 “Sandcastle” was used for this project.
Needles: US size 5 (3.75 mm) 40 inch (100 cm) circular needles or the needle size that gives you gauge.
Gauge: Gauge is not important in this design. My gauge was 22 stitches by 22 rows = 4 inches in
stockinette stitch measured before blocking.
Finished Dimensions:
69 inches (175.26 cm) long x 16 inches (40.64 cm) deep. These measurements were determined after lightly blocking.
Enjoy the knit and show off your shawl!
