Fishing has been a much loved tradition in my family for a long time.

It’s typically not so much about landing the big one (don’t get me wrong, we all love the excitement of a great catch), but is more about the wonderful memories that are made and conversations had in those quiet moments out on the lake.

I knit this pair of mitts while watching my girls cast out their lines. My oldest landed her first big catch- a Northern- and I will never forget the excitement of that moment, or the pride and joy on her face.
