Hello! Thank you for checking out my Northern Cardinal crochet pattern! I designed this pattern to be easy to make. If you can follow a pattern and know single crochet, double & treble crochet you will have no problems! The main stitch used is SC. Very little of the double & treble are used so even a beginner could make this pattern I feel! If any one has any questions or problems with the pattern I am available to answer and assist via email and that information is in the pattern too!!

You could use any similar types of yarns as those listed. You will need only 1 skein of the red and 1 skein of black. The black is a small amount so you may possibly be able to use some leftover stash if you have any. Same with the Red Heart in Red. This is used for the crest so very little is used. I choose to use DMC thread for the beak. You could also use Aunt Lydia’s or some similar type thread as well! Of course any changes to the yarn types and colors will result in it not looking like my example in the pictures.
