This is a classic triangular shawl that is worked top down in one piece.

It’s named Northern girl, because its color reminds me of ice, snow and my hometown in the very north of Russia, where I grew up. I really miss that place!

The pattern includes charts as well as written instructions.

The size of the shawl is easily adjustable.

Yarn: Knit Picks Pallette (100% Peruvian Highland Wool, 231 yds/1.75oz (211 m/50 g)), color Wonderland Heather.

Yardage: 462 yds (422 m).

Needles: 32-40-inch US4 (3.5) circular needle. Circular needle is recommended in order to accommodate the larger number of sts.

Other notions: waste yarn, stitch markers, tapestry needle or crochet hook for weaving in the ends, blocking pins, blocking mats.

Gauge is not crucial for this project.

Final measurements after blocking: wingspan 64’’ (162 cm), depth 27.5’’ (70 cm).

Skills required: basic knitting skills (such as knit, purl, k2tog, ssk), provisional cast-on, nupps.
