Northern Lights
The Northern Lights hat drew inspiration from the amazing phenomenon that can be viewed in most northern parts of the world. The aurora borealis – otherwise known as the northern lights – is a vivid demonstration of the Earth’s magnetic field interacting with charged particles from the sun. It’s also beautiful, and worth braving a cold night out when visiting the high northern (or southern) latitudes. Not all of us are lucky enough to live in an area where we can see it, but wear this hat in honor of that really cool phenomenon.
This hat was designed with using the brand new yarn line: Mo’s Hugs by Cindy at Got Your Goat Yarn Studio. If you find yourself in the Roseville, CA area, go check it out! Super soft, beautiful tonal colors…plus lots of great other yarns too! Friendly staff as well.
If you do not have access to this yarn, have no fear, any DK weight will do! Just pick 4 of your favorite colors.
Mo’s Hugs: 100% superwash Merino, single ply, 240 yds.
Gauge: 20-22 sts for 4 inches on a US 5-6 Needle.
I used 4 colors: Midnight, Moonlight, Fall Grass and Black Cherry. There is plenty of left over yarn to make a few hats or something else. A world of possibilities.
Enjoy!
