Northern Night Shawl
Some nights are so bright that we can’t tell them from the days. Streams of moonlight, polar lights and reflections, fooling our minds into thinking that life is just one long day in which we are constantly moving forward.
Northern Night Shawl is a top-down triangular shawl, an evolutive knit that is made using three colors, blended together by fading into each other and on intricate Fair Isle patterns.
Notes
- The sections of this shawl should transition smoothly. For optimal results, pick colorways that have a low contrast between each other. However, the first and third colorways should be di“erent enough to create an interesting result on Fair Isle sections.
- This shawl is adaptable in size by adding or removing rows in the garter stitch sections.
- Make sure to obtain the same stitch gauge in both garter stitch and Fair Isle section. If your colorwork tension is tighter, you can use bigger needles for those sections.
