Northwards is a simple shoulder shawl, worked in stocking stitch from the top centre down, using eyelets for the increases. It’s roughly triangular, though the lower point is gently curved, and perhaps more crescent-like.
My shawl, knitted in Jamieson’s Heather on 5mm needles, measures approx 150cm / 60” along the top edge, and approx 60cm / 24” from nape to lower point. It would work well in any aran weight yarn on 5mm needles, or you could try using chunky on 6mm.
I used most of 4 balls of Heather, so allow 400m of aran yarn and you should have plenty.
It is such a simple knit - perhaps even a nice project for knitting your very first shawl?
