Norwegian Blue
Although the Scandinavian method of stranded color knitting is often referred to as “Norwegian,” there are no traditional Norse motifs in this book. This design is my version of a “Norwegian” sweater. It was inspired by a challenge issued to me by my husband: “I want a sweater called ‘Norwegian Blue.’” He didn’t give any other guidelines, but I knew immediately that he was referring to his favorite comedy sketch of all time. I found the parrot motif in an old filed crochet chart. The inspiration around the shoulders translates to “Pining for the Fjords.”
