Hats and “mitts” (mittens) in stranded colourwork from Stitchcraft, January 1965.
Uses Patons DK, 5 oz. White and 2 oz. Lipstick Red 104. A pair each No. 8, No. 9 and No. 10 needles (4.25mm, 3.75mm and 3.25 mm). Tension: 6.5 sts/inch over fair-isle pattern on No. 10. needles,6 sts/inch over pattern on No. 8 needles. The mittens are knitted on smaller needles than the hat.
Pattern includes a colourwork chart. Both hat and mittens are made in one piece flat and then seamed.
