The red and cream version was shown in the Land’s End catalog in 2002 and featured in an accompanying pattern booklet. Only one size is offered in this edition.

Yarn requirements: Lands’ End version. Editor’s note: Be sure to note the change in skein size when purchasing the yarn. Current skeins are smaller (113 vs. 100 grams).

• 3 four oz. skeins of Rust #288 Satakieli
• 3 four oz. skeins of Cream #003 Satakieli
• 1 four oz. skein of Dark Red #491 (Satakieli, optional for the center “rose”, the separating band between roses and diamonds, the top-of-sleeves border and one of the two rounds of I-cord edging.

Additionally, The School House Press version shows a cropped version of the jacket knitted by Marie Shanley with variations.

Pattern recommends using whatever needles will obtain gauge and suggests that this will probably be in the range of US 2-4.

The sweater is worked from the bottom up with steeks. Sleeves are picked up from the armholes and worked downward to a bloused cuff that employs the “purl when you can” method.

Three or four two part clasp closures are used instead of buttons and buttonholes although according to Ms. Swansen EZ’s hidden or looped buttonholes could be worked into the I-Cord trim if desired.

Sizes: 36 (40, 44, 48)” finished chest. The Lands End version is one size only, 46” (113cm).
Needles: recommends 29” for body, 2-24” for the sleeves in sizes US#2-4
Guage: 28 st to 4”.
