NOT a Brown Paper Bag
The pattern for this crocheted lunch bag is inspired by the form and function as the old American classic, the sack lunch, the BROWN BAG!
I created this pattern out of necessity. Mindful of the environment, I switched from disposable brown bags to a reusable cooler. While I was happy with the earth-friendliness of the cooler, I was frustrated by its bulkiness for my usually simple lunch of an apple, carrots, seltzer and sandwich. Also, the cooler was so difficult to clean. I thought, “I should create something as portable as a brown bag which is also durable and washable.” The rest is history!
This pattern is suitable for a beginner, so long as you’re familiar with the single crochet, slip stitch and half double crochet. I’ve included 6 color photos and I guarantee my work: if you find any mistakes or require clarification, let me know and I will make the necessary revisions and send you the updated pattern at no extra charge! Resulting bag is 10.5 inches high, 7 inches wide, 4 inches deep.
